Matthew Omlor, LCSW, Psychotherapist

Matthew Omlor is a Licensed Master Social Worker. He obtained his undergraduate and graduate degrees in social work from Stony Brook University’s School of Social Welfare. He has worked in numerous facets of the mental health and substance abuse health field and provides individual therapy to people affected by life’s adversities and challenges.

Matthew practices from an eclectic perspective to meet the individual needs of each of his clients, drawing on evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based orientations. He holds certifications in Breathwork Facilitation and Rapid Resolution Therapy for trauma.

Matthew has experience providing treatment to adults, young adults and adolescents afflicted by behavioral health disorders related to anxiety, depression, substance abuse bipolar disorder, trauma, grief, relationship conflicts, low self-esteem, academic struggles, and adolescent and young adult issues. Matthew addresses his client’s needs through psychoeducation, empathy, respect, and patience, while encouraging their individuality and focusing on his client’s unique strengths.

Matt can be described as authentic with a calm demeanor, helping to put those he works with at ease. He takes great pride in working with individuals and families to address their life challenges, gaining a clearer perspective and making long-lasting changes.  Matthew is a vocal member of the local community, advocating for those in need of access to human services.
